Looking for the Canada PR latest news? In October 2026, IRCC issued more than 11,750 invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canada permanent residence in four Express Entry draws. This guide covers every draw, the CRS score cut-offs, what they mean for you, and how you can improve your chances of getting a Canada PR in 2026, whether you apply from India or from inside Canada.

Together, these four rounds add up to 11,752 invitations. If you search for Express Entry draw today or Canada PR latest news, this table gives you the current picture.

PNP Draw, October 13: CRS 772

IRCC invited 752 candidates in a PNP draw with a CRS cut-off of 772. The score looks very high because every candidate with a provincial nomination receives 600 extra CRS points. So a 772 cut-off means about 172 points from the candidate's own profile plus the 600 nomination points.

This cut-off applies only to people who already hold a nomination under the Provincial Nominee Program. If you do not have a nomination, you will not be selected in this type of draw, and a score of 772 is not required for you.

CEC Draw, October 15: CRS 519

In the CEC draw, IRCC invited 2,500 candidates with a minimum score of 519. It was the largest Canadian Experience Class round since August 5. The Canadian Experience Class is meant for people who already have skilled work experience in Canada, such as international graduates and foreign workers.

This is the draw type to watch if you are working in Canada and your CRS score is above about 520.

Trades Draw, October 1: CRS 476

The Trades draw Express Entry round invited 3,500 skilled tradespeople with a cut-off of 476. To qualify, candidates need work experience in an eligible trades occupation, and the NOC code in the profile must be accurate. Category-based draws usually have lower cut-offs than general draws, so they are a strong route for people with in-demand skills.

French Language Draw, October 16: CRS 435

The biggest round of the month was the French language draw Express Entry, with 5,000 invitations at a cut-off of 435. That was the highest French cut-off of 2026, but it is still much lower than the other draws. If you can speak French, even at an intermediate level, extra points and category-based draws can improve your chances a lot.

Express Entry Pool: Where Do You Stand?

As of October 12, 2026, there were about 229,456 active profiles in the Express Entry pool. The largest group, about 71,600 candidates, had a CRS score between 451 and 500. Only around 750 candidates had a score above 600. Use a CRS calculator or Canada PR points calculator to find your score, then compare it with the Express Entry cut-off for each draw type.

Canada PR Age Limit: What If You Are 45 or Older?

There is no official maximum age to apply for Canada permanent residence through Express Entry. However, in the CRS, candidates aged 45 or older get 0 points for age. This makes your score lower, but it does not make you ineligible.

If you are over 45, you can make up points through:

  • A high English or French language score (CLB or IELTS)

  • Canadian work experience

  • A provincial nomination (+600 points)

  • Education and a Canadian education credential

  • Strong French skills

Please check the current rules on the IRCC website, because the CRS can change.

Canada PR from India: Who Should Apply Through Which Draw?

Many applicants searching for Canada PR from India are in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and across the country. In general:

  1. Have a provincial nomination? Watch for PNP draws. You get +600 points.

  2. Have Canadian work experience? The CEC draw is usually the best fit.

  3. Work in trades, healthcare, STEM or another in-demand field? Look at category-based draws.

  4. Speak French? French-language draws often have lower cut-offs.

  5. None of the above? Improve your language score, education points and work experience first, and look at provincial streams.
